Turn Telegram voice notes into transcripts
Pepys connects to Telegram as a bot. Link a chat once from Pepys settings with a one-time link that expires after 15 minutes, then send any voice note, audio file, or video to the bot in that same chat and Pepys replies with the transcript plus a link to the full transcript page. It is usage-priced (pay once, no subscription), so every recording bills per minute against your credits. Telegram's own Bot API caps bot downloads at 20 MB, so shorter clips are the sweet spot – anything longer is better uploaded on Pepys.
The connect button lives in Settings, so it needs a Pepys account. Linking a chat is a one-time step – after that you only ever talk to the bot.

Record in the chat and send it. Voice notes carry no filename to worry about – Pepys transcribes the audio and replies with the text.

Memos, interview recordings, a meeting export. Attach the file to a message, or forward one somebody sent you.

Send the clip
Pepys takes the audio track off the video and replies with the spoken words as text.
How to connect
Press Connect Telegram in Pepys
Sign in, open Settings → Integrations, and press Connect Telegram. Pepys issues a one-time link that expires after 15 minutes.
Press Start in Telegram
The link opens a chat with the Pepys bot. Press Start to finish linking – that chat is now connected to your account.
Send a voice note, audio file, or video
Pepys confirms it picked the recording up, then replies in the same chat when the transcript is ready, with a link to the full transcript page.
Good to know
- Pay-once pricing. Every recording bills per minute against your credits – no monthly seat, no subscription.
- 20 MB is Telegram's limit, not Pepys'. Telegram's Bot API only lets a bot download files up to 20 MB, whichever app is asking. Send a shorter clip, or upload the longer recording on Pepys instead, where your account's own file limit applies.
- The link is one-time and short-lived. It expires after 15 minutes and works once. If it lapses, press Connect Telegram again for a fresh one. Once a chat is linked it stays linked until you disconnect it.
- Round video notes aren't supported. Send it as a regular video instead.
- Long transcripts still fit. A Telegram message tops out around 4,000 characters, so a long transcript is clipped in the reply – the link to the full transcript page always carries the complete text.
