How do I generate Vietnamese subtitles?

Feed Pepys Vietnamese audio or video, by upload or link, and it transcribes the speech and cuts it into timestamped SRT or VTT caption files – in minutes. Every cue is spelled in proper quốc ngữ with the tone marks intact, across Northern (Hanoi) and Southern (Saigon) accents, and Vietnamese is auto-detected. Your first 60 minutes are free, no card.

How vietnamese subtitle generator works

01

Upload or paste a link

Add a Vietnamese file or paste a link – any audio or video format works.

02

Auto-generate cues

Pepys transcribes the speech and breaks it into timed caption cues in quốc ngữ.

03

Download SRT/VTT

Grab a ready-to-use SRT or VTT file, timing preserved, ready for your player or editor.

Captioning Vietnamese is its own kind of fiddly. Words are short and mostly monosyllabic, so cues fill up fast, and every line has to carry its diacritics – a caption that reads "đa" instead of "đã" is simply wrong on screen. Pepys transcribes your Vietnamese audio or video, spells each cue correctly in quốc ngữ, and slices it into timestamped SRT or VTT captions you can drop straight into a video player or editor.

Because the six tones decide what a word means, captioning that ignores them produces lines that look fine and read as gibberish to a native viewer. Pepys is tuned to hear the tones and the regional accents – Northern (Hanoi) and Southern (Saigon) – and write them out faithfully. You can also translate the captions into another language, your first 60 minutes are free, credits never expire, and we never train on your audio.

Clean paragraphs. No more um's and ah's.

The left is what Pepys hands back – logical paragraphs with the filler stripped out, punctuated and readable. The right is the raw, one-line-per-segment dump most transcribers leave you with.

um so yeah everyone keeps telling you to like lead with your best line right but uh honestly if you give away the whole answer in the first second you know there's basically no reason for anyone to keep watching so the hook isn't kind of the smartest thing you say it's like a loop you open that they need to close and um that's the part that actually keeps people around

Vietnamese subtitle generator – questions, answered

How do I generate Vietnamese subtitles?

Upload Vietnamese audio or video, or paste a link – the first 60 minutes are free, no card. Pepys returns downloadable SRT/VTT captions in correct quốc ngữ within minutes.

SRT or VTT – which should I pick?

Both are on offer. SRT is the most widely supported across players and platforms; VTT is the web-native format. Export whichever your destination expects.

Are the captions burned into the video?

No. You get a separate sidecar caption file that you load alongside the video – the picture itself is never touched, so you can edit or restyle the captions later.

Will the tone marks survive in the caption file?

Yes. Each cue keeps its full quốc ngữ spelling – tone marks and vowel diacritics included – and you can correct any cue inline before you export.
