How ukrainian subtitle generator works

01

Add the Ukrainian clip or recording, or paste a link – any audio or video format.

02

Auto-generate captions

Pepys transcribes the speech and breaks it into readable, timestamped Ukrainian cues.

Export a ready-to-use SRT or VTT file with the timing already aligned to the audio.

Subtitling Ukrainian is a reading job as much as a listening one. Cues have to break at the natural seams of the language – not mid-vocative, not between a noun and the case ending that finishes its meaning – and they have to carry the Ukrainian-only letters ї, є, і, ґ and the apostrophe so the text reads as real українська rather than a Russified stand-in. Pepys listens, transcribes, and splits the speech into timestamped SRT or VTT cues that land where the eye expects them, whether the source is a documentary, a lecture, or a creator's reel.

What generic captioning fumbles is everything that makes Ukrainian Ukrainian: the seven-case grammar with its living vocative reshaping words on the fly, the running Surzhyk blend with Russian, and an alphabet that diverges from its neighbour by only a few letters. Pepys is tuned for those edges and cuts the lines to match the rhythm of speech. You can translate the captions into another language too, your first 60 minutes are free, credits never expire, and we never train on your audio.

Clean paragraphs. No more um's and ah's.

The left is what Pepys hands back – logical paragraphs with the filler stripped out, punctuated and readable. The right is the raw, one-line-per-segment dump most transcribers leave you with.

reel-voiceover.mp4

um so yeah everyone keeps telling you to like lead with your best line right but uh honestly if you give away the whole answer in the first second you know there's basically no reason for anyone to keep watching so the hook isn't kind of the smartest thing you say it's like a loop you open that they need to close and um that's the part that actually keeps people around

Ukrainian subtitle generator – questions, answered

How do I generate Ukrainian subtitles?

Upload Ukrainian audio or video, or paste a link – the first 60 minutes are free, no card. Pepys returns downloadable Ukrainian SRT/VTT captions in Cyrillic in minutes.

SRT or VTT – which should I pick?

Both are here. SRT is the most widely supported across players and editors; VTT is the web-native format for HTML5 video. Export whichever your platform expects.

Are the subtitles burned into the video?

No. You get a separate, downloadable sidecar caption file – an .srt or .vtt – that you load alongside the video, so the picture stays untouched and the text stays editable.

Do the Ukrainian characters and apostrophe render correctly?

Yes. ї, є, і, ґ and the apostrophe all come through intact in the caption file, and you can edit any cue inline before you export.
