How do you transcribe a OneDrive file?

To transcribe a OneDrive file, copy its file link, paste it into Pepys, and connect the Microsoft account that can access it. Pepys imports the recording and returns editable, timestamped text in 99+ languages. Use an individual file link; OneDrive folder links are not supported.

How OneDrive transcription works

01

Copy the file link

Open the audio or video file in OneDrive and copy its link.

02

Paste it into Pepys

Paste the link here and connect the Microsoft account that has access to the file.

03

Review and export

Edit the transcript, rename speakers, and export it as TXT, Markdown, DOCX, PDF, SRT, VTT, or JSON.

A recording in OneDrive should not need to be downloaded and uploaded again before you can transcribe it. Copy the file link, paste it into Pepys, and authorize the Microsoft account that can open it.

Pepys validates access to the selected file, imports the recording, detects the spoken language, and adds timestamps. You can clean up the text, label speakers, use the AI summary, and export the finished transcript.

Clean paragraphs. No more um's and ah's.

The left is what Pepys hands back – logical paragraphs with the filler stripped out, punctuated and readable. The right is the raw, one-line-per-segment dump most transcribers leave you with.

um so yeah everyone keeps telling you to like lead with your best line right but uh honestly if you give away the whole answer in the first second you know there's basically no reason for anyone to keep watching so the hook isn't kind of the smartest thing you say it's like a loop you open that they need to close and um that's the part that actually keeps people around
